LIFT & RELAY UNEVEN BLOCK PAVING OR PAVERS

Uneven block paving or pavers will regularly lead to surface puddles during and after any significant rain. It can also become a trip hazard, especially when the blocks or slabs have cracked or broken in two.
By far the most common cause of uneven block paving or pavers is a poorly prepared base during initial construction.

The area should have been cleared of soft earth and then compacted using a vibrating plate. A substantial hardcore base should then be added, compacted and rolled before a layer of sand goes on top. Once levelled, the blocks or pavers can be laid, with any broken or chipped ones discarded.

Some other causes of uneven paving include straying tree routes, repeated heavy vehicle use or burrowing animals.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

It is very difficult to estimate the cost of repairing a driveway given no two jobs are the same. We need to assess the cause of the uneven surface, then inspect the sub base and the work required to repair it. We are pleased to offer a free on site quotation giving details of the work we recommend is carried out.
